Priority Ambulance is pleased to welcome Michelle Martinez as Human Resources Generalist supporting the CONFIRE EMS operation in California. In this role, she will work alongside local and regional leaders to support the organization’s employees, strengthen HR practices, and help build a positive and consistent employee experience as Priority Ambulance in partnership with CONFIRE JPA prepares to begin service in San Bernardino County on October 1.
Martinez brings more than four years of progressive human resources experience supporting employees and leaders across a broad range of HR functions. Throughout her career, she has gained hands-on experience in employee relations, workplace investigations, recruiting and onboarding, workers’ compensation, leave administration, payroll support, performance management, training, policy development, and HR compliance.
Most recently, Martinez served as a Human Resources Generalist with Ability Counts, Inc., where she supported approximately 200 employees and partnered with management on employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary actions, performance management, conflict resolution, and compliance with California employment laws. She also supported workplace safety and compliance initiatives, including workers’ compensation administration, OSHA requirements, and employee training.
Martinez earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, San Bernardino, where she was recognized on the Dean’s List. She also holds associate degrees in Arts & Humanities and Social & Behavioral Sciences from Chaffey College. In addition, Martinez is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing her to support and communicate with a diverse workforce.
In her new role, Martinez will collaborate closely with the CONFIRE EMS HR and operational leadership teams to support employee relations, HR compliance, onboarding, workforce needs, and the day-to-day HR needs of employees throughout the operation. Her experience supporting California employees and leaders will be especially valuable as the team establishes strong HR practices and builds relationships across the new workforce.
“We are excited to welcome Michelle to our HR team as we prepare for the launch of our CONFIRE EMS operation,” said Allison Washington, Vice President of Human Resources. “Michelle brings the hands-on HR experience and knowledge of California employment practices that will be important as we support this new workforce. Just as importantly, this role is about being present, building relationships and becoming a trusted resource for our employees and leaders. I am confident Michelle will be a great addition to the team, and I look forward to seeing the impact she will make.”
Martinez’s appointment reflects Priority Ambulance’s continued investment in building a strong, accessible HR presence for its employees and operational leaders. As CONFIRE EMS prepares for its October 1 launch, she will help ensure employees have the support, resources, and HR partnership they need while helping build a workplace grounded in Priority Ambulance’s commitment to its people, patients, and communities.
