As part of its International EMS Workforce Initiative, Priority Ambulance offers Australian paramedics a transformative pathway to certification and employment in the United States. Our comprehensive program provides a unique opportunity for qualified medical professionals to expand their careers through a specialized training and recruitment process.

Participants will engage in an intensive eight-week paramedic boot camp at the Faithful Guardian Training Center in Georgia. The program covers all essential training costs, including transportation and housing, ensuring a seamless transition for international medical professionals. Upon successful completion of the program and obtaining National Registered Paramedic certification, participants are guaranteed a full-time position with Priority Ambulance across our 14-state network.

Our organization delivers critical emergency and non-emergency medical transportation services with specialized capabilities including Adult Critical Care Transport, Neonatal Care Transport, Tactical EMS, and Special Event medical teams. These units operate across diverse environments—from urban centers to rural and wilderness locations—providing comprehensive medical support where it’s needed most.

Successful candidates will commit to a 24-month employment period, joining a dynamic team dedicated to delivering high-quality emergency medical services nationwide.

Who Should Apply

  • Paramedic graduates looking for adventure and medical experience in the U.S.
  • At least 21 years of age with Australian citizenship
  • B.S. degree in paramedicine (fully completed)
  • Current COVID and Hepatitis B vaccinations
  • Passport and willing to relocate to the U.S. for 24 months after completing training
  • Experience as an ambulance transport officer – attendant preferred

Complete online orientation in your home country

Qualifying candidates will complete a short online certification bridge training course while in Australia leading to testing and certification as a USA Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician.

MULTI-WEEK TRAINING BOOTCAMP IN THE USA

Attend a multi-week training session at FGTC’S Campus in Metro Atlanta, GA to complete USA Paramedic certification classroom work. Training will include obtaining the following national and international certifications: Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS), Cardiology Overview (ACLS),Trauma Overview (PHTLS), Pediatrics Overview (EPC); Difficult airway & cadaver labs; and Tactical Emergency Care (TECC). The bootcamp will also include additional required instruction and test prep to fully prepare students to complete the USA paramedic exams and practice within the medical scope in any state in the USA. The bootcamp will also include orientation to Priority Ambulance’s company policies and protocols.

COMPLETE FIELD EXTERNSHIP AT PRIORITY OPERATONS

Australian paramedics will complete a field internship including on-ambulance ride time with Field Training Officers at Priority Ambulance operations in the greater Atlanta, GA area. The externship will include clinical rotations in local hospitals.

WORK AS A USA PARAMEDIC WITH PRIORITY AMBULANCE

After successful completion of this course and certification as a National Registry Paramedic, students will then travel at company expense to their final duty locations at Priority Ambulance operations across the country. Upon arriving at their duty station, paramedics will attend a local orientation and additional supervised ambulance ride time to familiarize themselves with the local operation. The local operation will provide housing for the paramedics for one month and assist them in obtaining a discounted apartment and vehicle lease for the remainder of their two-year service contract.  Paramedics will have the option to move and explore a new area after one year.
