Priority Ambulance and Baptist Memorial Health Care
Baptist Memorial Health Care, one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit healthcare systems, collaborated with Priority Ambulance to address the challenges of moving patients efficiently while keeping them close to home. In 2017, Baptist Memorial Health Care launched Baptist Ambulance in partnership with Priority Ambulance. This dedicated medical transport service was designed to streamline patient transfers, improve operational efficiency, and enhance care for communities in Tennessee and Mississippi.
To align with Baptist’s identity, Priority Ambulance established Baptist Ambulance as a subsidiary operating under Baptist’s name and branding. The fleet’s branded ambulances increased the healthcare system’s visibility and strengthened community recognition across its footprint.
A key innovation was the integration of Priority Ambulance’s dispatch services with Baptist’s Patient Placement Center (PPC). This systemwide synchronization improved patient flow and communication between facilities. In Booneville, Mississippi, for example, integration with the local 9-1-1 center boosted emergency transports to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Booneville by 40 percent.
The team initially deployed 10 ambulances and 60 personnel to support Baptist’s Memphis-area facilities. Today, Baptist Ambulance has grown to 65 vehicles and 425 employees, completing more than 54,000 patient transports in 2024. The partnership allows Baptist to focus on patient care while benefiting from Priority Ambulance’s EMS expertise and operational efficiencies.

We build collaborative partnerships with local governments, EMS agencies, and public safety organizations to ensure optimal care for residents.
In Arizona, our Maricopa Ambulance operation developed distinctive partnership models with several Phoenix-area communities, creating successful partnerships meeting the core needs of each community.
Chandler
Our EMTs work alongside Chandler Fire Medics in a collaborative 9-1-1 system. Maricopa Ambulance EMTs are stationed directly in local firehouses, enhancing response times and operational efficiency through coordinated dispatch via Phoenix Fire Alarm.
Glendale
This high-performance EMS system features Maricopa Ambulance units staffed with paramedic-EMT teams. Phoenix Fire Alarm manages dispatch operations, with additional resources deployed strategically to address demand fluctuations and maintain consistent response times.
Scottsdale
Maricopa Ambulance delivers dedicated Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance services, responding when Scottsdale Fire Medics determine transport is necessary. Our units handle interfacility transports during low-demand periods. We are now assisting Scottsdale Fire as their service model evolves.
Goodyear
This high-volume EMS system was served by Maricopa Ambulance units staffed with paramedic-EMT teams. Supplemental units were strategically deployed during peak demand to minimize delays and enhance system reliability.
Beyond 9-1-1 Services
Maricopa Ambulance extends its partnerships beyond emergency response, supporting hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout Maricopa County with high-volume transport services. We’ve implemented specialized programs including:
- Pediatric Critical Care transport
- Hospital Transportation Coordinators
- Discharge Lounges to streamline patient care
Additionally, Maricopa Ambulance provides standby medical coverage for major community events, including MLB Spring Training, the WM Phoenix Open, Phoenix Suns games, and concerts.
