Medshore Ambulance, a member of the Priority Ambulance family of companies, announced today that it has been awarded a three-year accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS). This recognition marks Medshore’s ninth consecutive accreditation cycle, placing the company among an elite group of fewer than 40 ambulance services nationwide that have achieved this distinction.
Since becoming the first ambulance service in South Carolina to earn CAAS accreditation in 2001, Medshore has continued to set the bar for excellence in emergency medical services. Today, it remains one of only three ambulance providers in the state to hold this national honor.
CAAS is widely recognized as the “Gold Standard” in the ambulance industry, having been awarded to more than 170 ambulance systems across the nation, including private, public, fire department, and hospital-based organizations. Accreditation entails a rigorous, independent review of clinical care, safety, operations, and performance standards.
“We take great pride in achieving accreditation, especially for a ninth consecutive review,” said Austin Sanders, vice president of operations for Medshore Ambulance. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our entire team, from our exceptional field crews to our local supervisors and executive leaders, who work tirelessly to ensure our patients and community receive the highest standards of care and safety.”
Accreditation by CAAS affirms Medshore’s unwavering commitment to its patients, local officials, the medical community, and its own team members.
- For patients and families: confidence that nationally recognized best practices guide every transport.
- For local officials, assurance that their communities are receiving the highest quality services.
- For the medical community: a trusted partner in delivering seamless, high-quality care.
- For Medshore employees: recognition of their excellence and the company’s investment in their professional growth.
Medshore’s achievement mirrors the long-standing tradition of excellence across the Priority Ambulance family of companies. Its sister operation, National EMS in Georgia, was among the first ambulance providers in the country to earn CAAS accreditation in 1993 and remains one of the nation’s most consistently accredited services.
