Magnolia Ambulance, a member of the Priority Ambulance family of companies, is pleased to announce the official launch of its Rural Emergency Services Care Blood Utilization and Survival (RESCUE) program in Noxubee County. This program supports the pre-hospital transfusion of blood products in combination with advocating for blood donations and implementing innovative protocols. The new program went live on May 29, 2025.

This innovative initiative represents a significant step forward in pre-hospital emergency care, particularly in rural areas. By enabling paramedics to administer blood products during emergency transport, the program is designed to dramatically improve outcomes for patients experiencing life-threatening blood loss.

The program is the result of a strong collaboration among forward-thinking community partners: Magnolia Ambulance, Mississippi Blood Services, and Paladin Emergency Services Consulting, and their commitment to providing impactful, high-quality patient care across the state.

“We are excited to add this new program to our Noxubee County operations,” said Leigh Ann Goolsby, Vice President of Operations. “Our Noxubee County operations is our fifth operation to begin carrying blood on our ambulances. This innovative healthcare solution is instrumental in ensuring patients receive the right care when and where they need it, increasing positive patient outcomes across our state.”

As one of the first rural EMS providers east of the Mississippi River to equip pre-hospital ambulances with blood on board, Magnolia Ambulance has long been recognized for its leadership in emergency medical services. Earlier this year, the company received the “Community Guardian” award for Lifesaving Trauma Response from the Mississippi Trauma Care System Foundation, demonstrating the company’s dedication and commitment to clinical excellence and community impact.

“The RESCUE blood program not only strengthens our ability to save lives within the hospital but also enhances pre-hospital care in our community, ensuring critical treatment starts as early as possible,” said Dr. Damon Darsey, Medical Director for Magnolia Ambulance. “The partnership between Magnolia Ambulance, Mississippi Blood Services, and Paladin Emergency Services Consulting make critical programs like this possible and show a dedication and commitment to quality care across our state.”

With the launch of the new blood program in Noxubee County, Magnolia Ambulance continues to set a high standard for emergency medical care across Mississippi, empowering first responders with the tools they need to save lives when every second counts.
