Serving the Heart of the Mid-South
Baptist Ambulance is pivotal for patient transportation for Baptist Memorial Health Care-affiliated facilities across Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Established in March 2017, Baptist Ambulance has become a trusted partner in delivering exceptional emergency medical services to the communities it serves.
What began as a collaboration serving ten Baptist hospitals and six 9-1-1 communities has become a dynamic network providing comprehensive EMS coverage. In 2018, Baptist Ambulance earned the prestigious Innovation in EMS Award from the American Ambulance Association, recognizing its groundbreaking partnership with Baptist Memorial Health Care.
Though Baptist Ambulance operates independently from Baptist Memorial Health Care, the two organizations share a unified mission: to provide seamless, high-quality healthcare. This partnership ensures that patients receive coordinated care, from emergency response to hospital treatment and beyond.
Strengthening the partnership, a central dispatch center is co-located in the Baptist Patient Placement Center (PPC). Baptist’s PPC is staffed with experienced nurses who track status and manage all beds in the Baptist system while facilitating transfers and assignment of beds from all Baptist facilities from one central location creating a seamless transition of care between Baptist Memorial Health Care and Baptist Ambulance.
Baptist Ambulance’s success stems from its focused commitment to excellence. The organization combines cutting-edge medical technology with the dedication of its team of EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, and support staff who deliver expert care, compassion, and comfort during critical moments.
Since its inception, Baptist Ambulance has continually expanded its reach. In 2025, the company widened its 9-1-1 services to Benton County, Mississippi, further enhancing its ability to serve diverse communities. Today, Baptist Ambulance operates hubs across Carroll, Obion, Shelby, and Tipton counties in Tennessee; Attala, Benton, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Desoto, Lafayette, Leake, Prentiss, and Union counties in Mississippi; and Crittenden County in Arkansas.
From Memphis’s urban centers to Carroll County’s rural roads, Baptist Ambulance is dedicated to ensuring the Mid-South has access to reliable, superior emergency medical care.
